Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring a part-time Funeral Service Crew in York to support preparation, transportation, and personal care of the deceased with professionalism and dignity. This role involves on-call evenings and weekends, a full manual UK driving licence, and training provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting) with training provided.
• Good IT skills and ability to use a range of devices and new applications.
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotional circumstances with strong customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications with detailed records.
