Southern Co-op in the south of England is seeking a Funeral Service Operative to support the respectful collection, transport and preparation of the deceased for funerals.

This on-site role includes driving our vehicles, on-call shifts, manual handling and acting as a bearer, with full training provided to help support families and communities with compassion.

You will join a values-driven team committed to people-first service and upholding dignity at a difficult time.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication & listening skills.
• Demonstrates resilience and ability to work under pressure.
• High level of understanding, empathy, and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Collecting the deceased and bringing them into our care.
• Helping dress and prepare the deceased, including preparing for viewing and placing the deceased into the coffin or casket.
