Job summary

The Co-op is hiring a Funeral Service Crew member for Great Tey, UK. This part-time role offers 18.75 hours per week with varied shifts Monday to Friday, plus on-call weekends and nights. The position involves preparing, transporting and caring for the deceased with professionalism and respect.

Training is provided, plus access to a range of Co-op benefits. Ideal candidates will have a full UK driving licence, enjoy working with families, and be comfortable with the physical aspects of the job.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical duties (lifting, moving coffins).
• Good IT skills and ability to use multiple devices.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications daily, inputting detailed records.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following health and safety guidance.
