Job summary

OurCoop is recruiting for a funeral care role. You will be the families’ first contact at bereavement scenes, building relationships with families while ensuring high standards of care for the deceased.

The role includes preparing and presenting the deceased with dignity, and you will join a standby and on-call rota as part of the responsibilities. Eligibility includes a DBS check from 1 December 2023 onwards; you will be supported by coaching and a dedicated team in a compassionate,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated compassion and empathy in care settings.
• Ability to support families during bereavement with professionalism.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased as required.
• Must hold a full driving licence and be prepared for on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Care for families at the scene of bereavement and during preparation of the deceased.
• Prepare and present the deceased with dignity and respect; wash and dress as needed.
• Participate in Standby and On-Call rota and support colleagues as part of the team.
