Job summary

OurCoop is seeking a compassionate funeral care team member to act as the first contact with families at bereavement scenes. You will oversee the preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity, collaborating with colleagues across the funeral team.

Role requires lifting ability, a full UK driving licence, on-call duties, and standby rotas. DBS check will be completed for new joiners as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and transfer the deceased with care and respect.
• Must hold a full UK Manual driving licence (valid for manual/automatic).
• DBS check required for new joiners (from 1 Dec 2023).
• Willingness to work night shifts and be on-call, including standby rota.

Responsibilities

• Be the families’ first point of contact at the scene of bereavement.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity and professionalism.
• Work with colleagues in a family unit, supporting transfers in Society vehicles.
