Job summary

OurCoop Funeral Care offers a compassionate role centred on supporting families during bereavement. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring dignified care and presentation of the deceased, including preparatory tasks and respectful handling.

You will work with a caring team, participate in standby/on-call rotas, and be prepared for DBS checks as part of joining our funeral services. We value empathy, support, and professional conduct in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate compassion and empathy in difficult circumstances.
• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Willingness to participate in Standby and On-Call rota.

Responsibilities

• Care for families at a bereavement scene and be the first point of contact.
• Prepare and present the deceased with dignity and respect, including washing and dressing as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues as part of the funeral team and support on-call shifts.
