Job summary

Co-op is hiring a Funeral Arranger in Newton Abbot for a part-time role (18.75 hours per week) with a Monday to Wednesday morning shift. The position involves sensitive duties, client liaison, basic cash handling, and coordinating funeral arrangements with professional care.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided; benefits include an excellent pension scheme and staff discounts on Co-op products and services.

Qualifications

• Good communication with clients and colleagues in writing and verbally.
• Ability to handle cash, perform basic calculations and data entry.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy with regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, report maintenance issues as needed.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
