Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to provide person-centred support to residents, assisting with daily tasks, personal care and social activities. You will work as part of a compassionate team to uphold residents' dignity and independence in a welcoming care home environment.

The role requires a genuine caring attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to engage in vocational training.

Qualifications

• Required: Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
• Required: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Required: Team player; Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes.
• Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable).
• Desired: Vocational Qualification (achieved / working towards).
• Desired: Experience of working with the relevant Client group.

Responsibilities

• Care: support with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and daily living.
• Assist in physical, emotional and spiritual care while maintaining comfort and dignity.
• Assist those with limited mobility and use of aids; monitor those who may be confused or have behavioural issues.
• Assist in promoting continence and care for residents who are dying or ill; assist with last offices.
• Observe care planning needs and complete written daily records per policy.
• Assist in social activities by engaging residents in hobbies and activities in the Care Home.
• Answer Nursecall, door and telephone; pass on messages promptly.
• Under supervision report on residents' wellbeing; carry out checks as directed.
• Make visitors welcome; provide refreshments and assistance as required.
• Make and change beds; keep rooms clean and tidy; manage waste per policy.
• Maintain equipment and clothing; ensure privacy and dignity, especially for the dying and bereaved.
• Assist during meals; manage dietary needs and swallowing difficulties; serve meals and clear tables.
• Escort residents on outings or to hospital visits as needed.
• Practice integrity in handling residents' personal and financial affairs.
