Job summary

A Personal Assistant/Carer is sought to support a gentleman in Pembrokeshire with family’s care needs, companionship and personal care. The post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, enabling the family to manage their son's and daughter's support with independent access to the community.

The successful applicant should be friendly, reliable and able to work flexibly to meet care requirements, including safeguarding and liaising with family and professionals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop a reliable and trusting relationship with the family
• Provide 1:1 support to individual members as required
• Assist with personal care (changing pads etc...)
• Assist with general household duties (cleaning, laundry etc…)
• Ensure a structured set of activities is maintained, where required.
• Develop one-on-one interactions with the two family members whilst undertaking outings out of doors and activities around their interests.
• Communicate with the person’s family and wider support network.
• Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours.
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback on any concerns to the relevant authority.
• Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
