Job description

About The Role

We're seeking an exceptional Community Support Manager with strong leadership skills, a passion for delivering outstanding support, and the drive to help shape the future of community-based adult social care. Introduced to directly support our ongoing service growth, this is an exciting new role created as we increase the size and scope of our specialist provision. This is more than a management role, it's an opportunity to lead and develop teams, promote independence, and make a lasting difference to the lives of the people we support every day.

At Hesley Group, we put people first. We are committed to being the best we can be, setting high standards and striving for excellence in everything we do, ensuring the people we support receive the highest quality care and support.

Your Role

As a Community Support Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the operational delivery of Supported Living services for adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight across a defined locality, ensuring services are safe, person-centred, effective and fully compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements.

You will be responsible for supervising and developing Assistant Community Support Managers, supporting teams to deliver outstanding outcomes, and ensuring people are empowered to live independently, exercise choice and control, and achieve their personal goals.

The role also involves overseeing quality assurance, safeguarding, health and safety, staffing, budgets, service performance and continuous improvement activities, while building positive relationships with families, commissioners, health professionals and other stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will have substantial leadership experience within health and social care, ideally within Supported Living services supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and specialist needs. You will be a visible and values-led leader who can motivate teams, drive quality improvement and maintain high standards of care and support.

You will be confident in coaching and developing others, managing service performance, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and organisational standards. A strong understanding of person-centred support, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and positive behavioural approaches is essential.

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and specialist needs.

  • Experience of leading, developing and performance managing teams.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience of quality assurance, auditing and service improvement activities.

  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, person-centred planning and relevant care standards.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with people we support, families, commissioners and professionals.

  • Experience of managing resources, staffing and budgets effectively.

  • Diploma Level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already achieved.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across services as required.

About Us

You'll join an organisation committed to quality, continuous improvement and supporting people to achieve the best possible outcomes.
