Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our Adult Community Health Services in Bexley and Greenwich Boroughs. We have vacancies in our District Nursing Teams to meet the increased demand for community health services, supporting the national goal of delivering more care out of hospital.
We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses eager to build on their pre-registration experience. We provide a supportive environment to develop your competencies and advanced clinical assessment skills. If you have completed your degree and are awaiting your NMC PIN, we can start you on a lower band, with a plan to promote you to Band 5 once your PIN is confirmed.
As a Community Staff Nurse, you will work both autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality nursing care in patients' homes. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, cannulation, IV antibiotics administration, wound and catheter care, and compassionate end-of-life care. All successful candidates will receive a formal induction.
You will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evaluation, ensuring high standards of care. You must conduct thorough clinical and risk assessments, considering patients holistically and escalating concerns appropriately.
Our district nursing services operate with Day, Twilight, and Night teams between 08:00 and 23:00, seven days a week, including bank holidays. A full UK driver’s license and access to a car are essential due to the need to travel between patients' homes promptly.
