Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a proactive Community Safety Officer to support the Community Safety Partnership Plan and tackle anti-social behaviour across the district. You will work within the Safer Communities team to safeguard residents and improve local safety outcomes.

The role involves investigations, victim support, case preparation, and collaboration with partner agencies, with a focus on practical solutions and signposting services.

Qualifications

• Good general education including GCSE Maths/English or equivalent.
• Commitment to working towards Level 2 Award in Community Safety Casework within 2 years.
• Understanding of community safety legislation and related acts.

Responsibilities

• Investigate anti-social behaviour and hate crime, propose enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with Police, housing providers and victim support organisations.
• Interview victims and witnesses, collect evidence and support case investigations.
• Signpost residents to appropriate services and monitor referrals.
• Maintain case records and ensure documentation compliance.
• Prepare case files and represent the Council in legal proceedings as needed.
• Support delivery of community safety initiatives and campaigns.
• Attend meetings and contribute to multi-agency plans to prevent crime.
