Job summary
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a proactive Community Safety Officer to help tackle anti-social behaviour, hate crime, and safety issues across North Northamptonshire. You will investigate cases, support victims, prepare legal proceedings, and work with police, housing providers, and other agencies to safeguard residents and businesses.
This role emphasises victim-focused prevention, signposting, referrals, and delivery of community safety initiatives, with liaison in multi-agency
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths/English or equivalent.
- Commitment to and/or studying towards Community Safety qualification within 2 years.
- Understanding of community safety legislation gained through experience.
Responsibilities
- Investigate reports of anti-social behaviour and hate crime and recommend actions.
- Collaborate with Police, housing providers, probation, victim support and community groups.
- Interview victims and witnesses, gather evidence and support throughout investigations.
- Signpost and refer residents to appropriate services and support.
