Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a proactive Community Safety Officer to support the Community Safety Partnership Plan across North Northamptonshire. You will investigate ASB and hate crime, signpost services and work with partners to deliver practical safety solutions.

Join a collaborative, flexible team focused on protecting communities, reducing crime and building safer, stronger neighbourhoods through casework, referrals and multi-agency activity.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths/English or equivalent required.
• A relevant qualification or commitment to attaining within 2 years (eg Level 2 Award in Community Safety Casework).
• Understanding of crime and ASB legislation gained through work experience.
• Spoken English sufficient to perform the role.

Responsibilities

• Investigate anti-social behaviour and hate crime and recommend enforcement where needed.
• Collaborate with Police, housing, probation and community groups to coordinate responses.
• Interview victims and witnesses, gather evidence and support case investigations.
• Maintain case records and prepare files for court proceedings.
• Signpost residents to services and monitor referrals for outcomes.
• Support community safety initiatives, campaigns and multi-agency plans.
