Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking two Neighbourhood Wardens to join our Housing team. You will help build safe, welcoming communities, inspect communal areas, and support residents to feel proud of where they live.

The role involves manual handling and a DBS check, with duties across council-owned properties. You will drive council vehicles as part of daily tasks, promote safety and cleanliness, and collaborate with other teams to deliver a high-quality wardening service.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Excellent communication skills for customer-facing role.
• Ability to work physically with lifting and loading as part of duties.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspection of communal areas in blocks of flats to identify health and safety issues and ensure tenancy compliance.
• Remove immediate hazards, tidy areas, and prevent fly-tipping.
• Deliver a friendly, customer-focused warden service and promote respect for people, property and the environment.
