Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking a friendly Neighbourhood Warden to work within the Neighbourhood team, supporting local residents and community groups. Your role involves visiting residents, linking people to services, organising events, and delivering air pollution education around schools.

No prior experience required as on-the-job training is provided. Fluency in additional languages is welcomed and a DBS disclosure check applies.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with residents and community groups to understand their needs
• Carry out visits, provide support and link people to local services through the Neighbourhood Connect Project
• Support residents to organise community events such as a fun day
• Work with Youth Services on activities such as running a food bank
• Deliver educational work to help reduce air pollution, particularly around schools
• Encourage positive behaviour change and pride in the local area
• Support and motivate communities to take part in clean-up activities such as litter picks
• Promote environmental awareness and a sense of ownership of shared spaces
• Support school eco-projects
