Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Cleaner - Housing to deliver routine cleaning across council-owned properties, mainly Sheltered Housing Schemes in Swindon. The role requires carrying out cleaning, maintaining hygiene and safety in communal areas and responding to empty homes in void properties.

You will work 37 hours per week, with a salary of £26,016 per year plus benefits. A DBS check, English language fluency and ability to travel between schemes are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of health and safety at work especially manual handling at work, COSHH and PPE.
• Demonstrate knowledge of participating in good practices i.e. Health & Safety.
• Ability to travel throughout the Borough and access to a vehicle to move between schemes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties across our social housing properties as directed.
• Deep cleaning and clearance of empty council homes before new tenants move in.
• Routine cleaning such as mopping, dusting, window cleaning, removal of rubbish, sanitizing, and deep cleaning kitchen equipment.
• May include graffiti removal, decontamination, or needle sweeps.
