Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust seeks a phlebotomist to perform venepuncture in patients' homes within the District Nursing Service. You will document patient details and report to the District Nurse Team.

You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams, maintain accurate records, and assist with training in venepuncture, while supporting basic tasks like blood pressure monitoring where needed. Rotation between clinical environments may occur.

Qualifications

• Venepuncture/Phlebotomy trained.
• GCSE Maths and English at minimum level.
• NVQ Level 2 in relevant healthcare topic or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Take blood from patients in their homes following venepuncture guidelines.
• Perform simple tasks such as blood pressure monitoring as needed.
• Liaise with Whittington Health teams and allied staff.
• Demonstrate high service standards within governance frameworks.
• Report safety concerns to line manager and follow infection control procedures.
• Provide practical phlebotomy training to Adult Community Nursing team.
