Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking experienced Community Phlebotomists to join our Gravesham team, delivering blood sampling in patients' homes across the locality from Gravesham Community Hospital base.

You will work independently within a supportive healthcare team, undertaking venepuncture, ensuring accurate labeling and meticulous record-keeping while maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout each appointment.

Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting
• Successful completion of venepuncture training and competency assessment
• Experience documenting and maintaining electronic records
• Excellent communication and patient-handling skills

Responsibilities

• Undertake venepuncture in patients' homes and community settings
• Deliver a professional, caring, patient-focused service
• Identify patients accurately and ensure samples are labeled correctly
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
• Provide information and reassurance during blood tests
• Escalate concerns to Team Leader/GP as needed
• Ensure samples are stored and transported per local procedures
• Follow clinical policies, infection prevention standards and safe working practices
• Report incidents, risks or near-misses promptly
• Participate in clinical supervision and mandatory training
• Collaborate with Community services to ensure high-quality patient care
• Act in line with professional standards and organisational policies
