Community Outreach Officer

Location: Across Manchester, Salford & Trafford

Salary: Up to £28,420

Contract: Full Time, Temporary (6-12 weeks)

The Role:

We are recruiting for a Community Outreach Officer who will engage with local communities to identify people needing help overcoming barriers that may prevent them from gaining work or pursuing their ambitions.

Duties:

1. Work within the community to promote the service to customers from all backgrounds, including those speaking community languages (Urdu, Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Somali, or Tigrinya).
2. Support customers in understanding the benefits of the programme to help increase their confidence and overcome personal barriers to life, learning, and employment.
3. Signpost interested customers to the programme and arrange meetings with their key worker for 121 support.

Required Skills:

1. Strong verbal and written communication skills; additional language skills are a plus.
2. Good understanding of the Salford, Manchester, and Trafford regions, with the ability to build rapport and empathize with local residents.
3. Willingness to travel across the regions; either a driver or comfortable with public transport.
