Community Outreach Officer

Across Manchester, Salford & Trafford

Up to £28,420

Full Time, Temporary (6-12 weeks)

The Role

We are recruiting for a Community Outreach Officer who will engage with local communities to identify people who need help overcoming barriers which may prevent them from gaining work or pursuing their ambitions.

Duties

1. You will work within the community to promote the service to customers from all backgrounds, including those speaking community languages (Urdu, Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Somali, or Tigrinya).
2. You will support customers to understand the benefits of the programme, which will help to increase their confidence and overcome personal barriers to life, learning, and employment.
3. You will signpost interested customers to the programme and arrange meetings with their key worker for 121 support.

Required Skills

1. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, and ideally, you will speak additional languages.
2. You should have a good understanding of the Salford, Manchester, and Trafford regions, be able to build rapport with local residents, and empathise with their individual circumstances.
3. You will need to travel across the Manchester, Salford, and Trafford regions, so being a car driver or willing to use public transport is essential.
