Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced Community Nursing Team Leader to guide and develop the community nursing team within Renfrewshire HSCP. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in the home and community settings, with opportunities to influence service development and improve patient outcomes.

The post requires a live NMC pin, SPQ or equivalent, and substantial leadership experience within NHS settings.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC pin and UK working status.
• SPQ qualification or equivalent with community nursing experience.
• Significant leadership or supervisory experience in an NHS/healthcare setting.
• Experience working across services, organisations and partner agencies.
• Proven ability to lead change, manage performance and support service improvements.
• Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and organizational skills for complex situations.
• Strong IT skills with healthcare systems, report writing and governance/risk/budget understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and day-to-day operational management of the community nursing team.
• Support staff development through supervision, appraisal, mentoring and performance management processes.
• Promote high-quality, safe and patient-centred care across all service areas.
• Lead and contribute to service redesign, quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
• Monitor workforce deployment, staffing levels and service performance.
• Manage incidents, complaints, audits and risk assessments per organisational policies.
• Develop partnerships with multidisciplinary teams, GP practices, social care and external agencies.
