Job summary

Aston Mansfield is seeking a Community Maintenance Officer to ensure that all buildings, facilities and grounds are safe, functional and well-maintained, supporting effective delivery of services at Aston-Mansfield Community Centre and land at Burges Road. The role is on site, 7 hours per week, paid at £14.80 per hour, with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities include inspections, routine maintenance, coordinating contractors and maintaining maintenance logs to support safety and capital

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or caretaking for community facilities.
• Experience with basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, joinery, decorating or grounds work.
• Ability to carry out site inspections and identify issues.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and risk assessments.
• Experience coordinating external contractors.
• Ability to maintain logs and records accurately.

• Regular inspection and maintenance of Burges Road.
• Coordinate specialist contractors for electrical, gas, plumbing and other works.

• Support capital projects and improvements.
• Respond flexibly to emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Support Health & Safety compliance, including actions from audits and risk assessments.

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of carrying out building maintenance, repairs or caretaking duties in a similar environment (e.g. community buildings, housing, land and estates or facilities)
• Experience of basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, joinery, decorating or grounds maintenance
• Experience of conducting site inspections and identifying maintenance issues
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in a facilities or maintenance context, including risk assessments
• Experience of working with external contractors and coordinating works
• Ability to maintain records and logs accurately
