Job summary

Hertfordshire Libraries is seeking a Library Assistant to join a welcoming team across Hertfordshire libraries. You will promote library resources, help customers and help deliver activities such as Baby Rhyme Time and Story Time, while supporting day-to-day library operations and CreatorSpace activities.

The role requires resilience, reliability and the ability to work flexibly across locations, with varied hours and a strong customer service ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high standard customer service.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and support customers.
• Proven ability to collaborate with a team to meet objectives.
• Strong communication skills and organisational ability.
• Competent with ICT including Microsoft Office and internet.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support use of all library resources and help customers find information.
• Deliver library activities and events, including Baby Rhyme Time and Story Time.
• Assist with day-to-day running and events at the Library Manager's direction.
• Support creation-space activities and other service point duties.
