Job summary

Affinity Learning Partnership is seeking a friendly Community Duty Officer to support our lettings service and ensure community spaces are welcoming, safe and well-maintained. You will be the face of the lettings team, greeting customers and managing venue operations during bookings.

The role offers varied duties, including opening/locking buildings, on-site support, and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and safety across Trust venues.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing Trust buildings for community activities.
• Providing a warm, welcoming and professional service to lettings customers.
• On-site venue supervision during lettings hours to ensure a positive experience.
• Providing on-site security and supervising buildings and grounds.
• Preparing facilities and equipment for bookings and clearing away afterwards.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation for community spaces.
• Assisting with health and safety and ensuring user compliance with hire conditions.
• Responding confidently to emergencies and performing minor maintenance where needed.

The Candidate

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and proactive Community Duty Officer to join our supportive lettings team. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in providing excellent customer service, enjoys working with people and wants to play an important role in ensuring our facilities are safe, welcoming and ready for community use.

As a Community Duty Officer, you will be the friendly face of our lettings service, providing a warm welcome to customers and helping to ensure that community activities run smoothly. You will take responsibility for the venue during lettings hours, supporting customers, overseeing the facilities and ensuring our buildings and grounds are well cared for.

This role offers variety, with duties including opening and securing our buildings, preparing facilities for bookings, supporting customers on site and responding appropriately to any issues or emergencies. You will also play an important role in ensuring our facilities are used safely and responsibly.

What will you be doing?

• Opening and securing Trust buildings for community activities, including daytime, evening and weekend lettings.
• Providing a friendly, welcoming and professional service to all lettings customers.
• Taking responsibility for the venue during lettings hours and ensuring customers have a positive experience.
• Providing on-site security and supervising the buildings and grounds to help prevent damage or misuse.
• Preparing facilities, equipment and furniture for bookings and assisting with clearing away afterwards.
• Helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across areas used by the community.
• Supporting health and safety requirements and ensuring users follow our Conditions of Hire.
• Responding appropriately and confidently in the event of an emergency.
• Undertaking general cleaning and maintenance tasks relating to community use where required.
