Overview

Join our team as a Communications Officer. Are you a creative and enthusiastic communicator with a passion for digital media? Do you want to use your skills to support a growing church movement and make a real difference?

We’re looking for a Communications Officer to lead the planning, creation and delivery of digital communications and campaigns that support Elim’s national ministry and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Lead digital content creation across web, email, social media and intranet
  • Manage and develop Elim’s online presence to increase engagement
  • Plan and deliver integrated campaigns for events, resources and initiatives
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate and valuable content for church leaders
  • Analyse performance and drive innovation in digital strategy
  • Design and content responsibilities including creating, editing and delivering inspirational content for digital channels (promotional web pages, images, graphics, videos and written content)
  • Coordinate intranet content production across departments to ensure departments publish accurate and valuable content for church leaders
  • Manage Elim’s website, intranet and social media presence; produce and schedule email communications
  • Maintain content across digital channels to develop an emotional connection with followers and build an active online community
  • Plan, develop and deliver our communications plan to deliver organisational objectives and ministry
Qualifications and essential skills
  • Confident and competent writer with good communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in a digital role, including management of web, social media, digital communications and email strategy
  • Knowledge and experience of Content Management Systems, creating and managing website content, plus SEO
  • Experience with HTML and CSS to create modern web pages from templates
  • Understanding of how digital platforms contribute to an organisation’s communications strategy and engagement
  • Experience with email marketing systems and analytics
  • Experience with social media in an organisational environment, analyzing engagement and campaign effectiveness
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines
  • Creative, innovative and passionate about digital communications
  • Strong work ethic aligned with Elim’s aims and values; proactive and able to work autonomously
  • Excellent teamwork and influencing skills
Desirable
  • A degree or three years of experience in a communications-related field
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience deriving actionable insights from website and digital data (Google/YouTube analytics, Meta Business Suite)
  • Knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, Direct Marketing and Fundraising Regulations
  • Experience using Microsoft Office/365
  • People and project management experience
  • Experience in managing an online store and payment systems
Role specifics
  • Location: Elim International Centre, De Walden Road, Malvern
  • Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Hours: 22.5 – 36.25 hours per week (part-time or full-time by arrangement); hybrid/remote options with office visits; mutually agreed with the Communications Manager
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Contract type: Permanent; six-month probationary period
