Job Description:

Our prestigious manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry is currently seeking a Commissioning Marine Electrician to join their team.

The Commissioning Marine Electrician will support the Commissioning Team through all aspects of the commissioning process.

This is a full-time permanent position, based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Travel, including overnight stays and overseas trips, is required, approximately one trip every 1 to 2 months.

A full driving license valid in the UK is required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of marine electrics
• Audio Visual and Navigation systems
• Extensive practical knowledge of AC/DC systems
• Understanding of different voltages (international variances)
• Networking and system interfacing (desirable)
• Organizing and planning skills
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings
• Experience working with timber/GRP yachts in the marine industry
• French polishing experience (desirable)
• Experience with cZone and Mastervolt installations (desirable)
• High standard of workmanship
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to work autonomously

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Commissioning Skippers in identifying electrical issues on new yachts, providing solutions, and ensuring rectification
• Rectify electrical defects before yacht handover
• Ensure work meets quality standards and best practices
• Support the Commissioning Team with duties such as boat cleaning, site maintenance, trial sails, and yacht deliveries
• Coordinate with Production and Design for continuous improvement
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Develop personal knowledge and skills in the area of expertise
• Support Production and other departments as needed
