BaxterStorey is seeking a Commis Chef at St James Place Cirencester to join our culinary team and help create outstanding dishes. You will own your station, work with the kitchen crew, and uphold exacting standards, with a passion for gastronomy driving excellence.

You’ll demonstrate technical skill, attention to detail and a collaborative spirit, contributing to menu development and a positive service culture. This role supports professional growth within BaxterStorey.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract catering or educational settings preferred.
• Culinary degree or recognised culinary certifications.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
• Able to multitask in a high-volume kitchen.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Be a team player with excellent organisation.
• Flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Manage your assigned station with responsibility for prep, cooking and presentation.
• Maintain high quality, consistency and presentation across dishes.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene and sanitation protocols at all times.
• Prepare mise en place and maintain an organised station during service.
• Contribute to menu planning and culinary technique improvement.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth service and positive environment.
