Job summary

Join BaxterStorey as a Commis Chef at our Chester site in the United Kingdom. This role offers a 37.5-hour week with a salary of £26,000–£27,000, and benefits including meals on shift and development opportunities.

You will support the kitchen team, prepare and cook dishes, uphold food safety standards, and help with inventory and menu development. A passion for culinary arts and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis Chef or demonstrated passion for culinary arts.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef and sous chef.
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards throughout all food preparation processes.
• Manage assigned station, overseeing production of food items and maintaining cleanliness.
• Uphold high-quality standards for all food handled, focusing on presentation and taste.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and provide support to colleagues as needed.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
• Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies.
• Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishes.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
