Job summary

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking a Commis Chef to support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes and exceptional guest dining experiences. The role focuses on assisting with preparation, following the Head Chef’s guidance, and maintaining high standards of hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with a dedicated team, develop culinary skills, and contribute to a culture of excellence and guest satisfaction within Belfast’s boutique hotel landscape.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a hotel kitchen, preferably as a Commis Chef.
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations.
• Passion for high-quality, fresh, seasonal food.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food is prepared, presented and served to a high standard and in keeping with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ensure ordering is accurate and all fridges, freezers and all food storage is stock rotated.
• Follow the specifications set out by the Head Chef to ensure consistency.
• Support the kitchen team, whilst maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen operation.
• Ensure that you are correctly dressed and adhere to high personal hygiene standards.
• Comply with all regulations as stated in the normal operating procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance issues are reported immediately following the correct procedure.
