Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is recruiting for an entry-level role in a busy professional kitchen located in the North West. You will join a dedicated catering team, assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality food, and learn from experienced chefs in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and organisation, supporting stock rotation and basic kitchen administration, and following recipes and portion guidelines to

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
• A good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• A relevant catering or culinary qualification
• A current food hygiene certificate

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients and assisting with the cooking of dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with food hygiene regulations.
• Supporting senior chefs with stock rotation, storage and basic kitchen administration.
• Following recipes and portion guidelines accurately and consistently.
• Assisting with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
