Job summary

Chef & Cook in Greater London is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to support the kitchen team in a fast-paced service. You will assist in preparation and cooking to established standards, learn from senior chefs, and contribute to a clean, safe working environment.

This role offers a pathway to Chef de Partie, meals on duty, and 28 days holiday; the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm for fresh ingredients and strong organisational and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask in a busy kitchen.
• Excellent communication and team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Help organise and keep the kitchen clean; maintain equipment.
• Support senior chefs in food production tasks (chopping, slicing, marinating).
• Participate in mise en place for service.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely service during busy periods.
