Company: The Fish Shop Restaurant and Fishmongers

Salary: £12.36 (all hours worked are paid) plus TRONC – all tips are pooled and shared with the team, paid out monthly.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our kitchen team at The Fish Shop Restaurant and Fishmongers as a Commis Chef, working closely with our Executive Chef, Marcus Sherry, and team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong passion for excellent food and a desire to develop your cooking skills. You will learn and gain experience in each section of our kitchen.

As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing the mis-en-place for your assigned section according to a provided list.
  2. Ensuring the quality of food preparation meets exceptional standards.
  3. Communicating effectively within the team.
  4. Assisting in other sections or helping with other duties as required.
  5. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and standards of the section.

Our successful Commis Chef will have:

  1. A genuine passion for food.
  2. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  3. Good kitchen and knife skills.
  4. A solid understanding of health & safety and food safety guidelines within the kitchen.
  5. A commitment to high standards.
  6. Innovation, creativity, and attention to detail.
