Job description

Job Title: Commis Chef

Richmond Village in Aston on Trent is looking to appoint a Commis Chef. Providing more than just retirement living, Richmond Villages offers an aspirational lifestyle to our residents, and our first-class accommodation requires a first-class service. As a Commis Chef at Richmond Aston, you’ll assist our Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and ensure all catering areas are cleaned, maintained, and safe.

Position Details
  • Salary: £12.60ph & Excellent Benefits
  • Shift: 2 days 9-4, including every other weekend
Typical Responsibilities
  • Catering to residents, visitors, and the public across various dining areas, including an 80-cover restaurant, 40-cover Bistro/Café bar, 40-cover Club House Café, and 3 Care Home dining rooms.
  • Prepare and cook food according to food hygiene regulations and set menus, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Deliver front-of-house services ensuring consistent standards.
  • Work within the HACCP framework tailored to a Healthcare Environment.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.
  • Respond to dietary needs and personal preferences of residents and customers.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Head Chef.
Candidate Requirements
  • Understanding of Health and Safety protocols and maintaining a hygienic environment.
  • Up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in catering or kitchen environments is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of working in care settings and stock control preferred.
  • Ability to prepare simple meals, be organized, adaptable, and work well within a team or independently.
