Job summary

Oyster Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join a busy fleet operation. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs to high standards and keep accurate records to ensure vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.

The role offers flexibility with early and late shifts, with opportunities for overtime and ongoing training to broaden technical skills. A supportive workshop environment with emphasis on quality workmanship is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering or vehicle maintenance.
• NVQ or mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to diagnose faults and read wiring diagrams and technical information.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and modifications.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete diagnostic checks and ensure repairs are carried out correctly.
• Complete job cards, service records, timesheets and other documentation accurately.
• Develop additional technical skills through ongoing training.
• Attend customer sites when required.

Are you a skilled technician with a strong mechanical background and experience working with commercial vehicles or fleet maintenance?

Our client is looking for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join their busy fleet operation. Working as part of a supportive workshop team, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs to a high standard, keeping accurate records and ensuring vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.

This role offers both early and late shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and modifications
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Complete diagnostic checks and ensure repairs are carried out correctly
• Complete job cards, service records, timesheets and other documentation accurately
• Develop additional technical skills through ongoing training
• Attend customer sites when required

Who They’re Looking For:

• Experience in mechanical engineering, vehicle maintenance, or a similar environment
• Relevant NVQ, mechanical engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience
• Mechanical and electrical repair experience
• Ability to diagnose faults and read wiring diagrams and technical information
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible approach to working at different locations when required
• Able to participate in both early and late shift patterns
