Job summary
Group 1 Automotive is recruiting a Commercial Vehicles Business Manager for the Volkswagen Van Centre Peterborough. You will drive finance, insurance, and ancillary product sales for business and fleet customers while collaborating with Sales Executives to meet targets and maintain high service standards.
You will build trusted relationships with business clients, ensure FCA compliance, and lead handovers from order to delivery, with a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Manager or similar in automotive/commercial vehicles
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle finance products
- Knowledge of FCA compliance and TCF
- Experience with business, fleet, and corporate customers
- Track record of achieving finance and profitability targets
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial awareness to identify growth opportunities
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using dealership management systems and finance platforms
- Full UK driving licence
Responsibilities
- Drive the sale of finance, insurance, and ancillary products across the commercial vehicle operation
- Work closely with customers to understand their business requirements and recommend tailored funding solutions, including hire purchase, lease purchase, contract hire, and other commercial finance products
- Monitor and improve finance penetration, product sales, and profitability performance
- Support the Commercial Vehicle Sales Team in achieving vehicle sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service
- Build strong relationships with business customers, fleet operators, and finance partners
- Ensure all finance and insurance activities comply fully with FCA regulations and company policies
- Manage the customer handover process, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from order through to delivery
- Analyse performance data, identify opportunities, and implement strategies to maximise departmental success
- Maintain accurate records and complete all administration in a timely manner
- Act as a role model for professionalism, customer care, and operational excellence
