Job description

Commercial Technical Support Engineer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a candidate for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The Commercial Technical Delivery team supports technical project delivery, system maintenance, procurement, and reactive support for PoJ commercial customers. The team is also responsible for supporting and developing internal Ports of Jersey security systems, including CCTV, access control, and radar detection.

The Technical Support Engineer will provide engineering and electrical solutions of varying complexity, including design, procurement, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of IT, audio-visual (AV), control, CCTV, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide daily support for reactive calls related to external customer and internal PoJ systems.
2. Ensure maintenance and support of customer systems adhere to the specified SLAs.
3. Handle procurement of hardware and software for projects and ongoing system support.
4. Accurately record all time and materials used in support and project delivery for billing purposes.
5. Identify new business opportunities with existing and potential customers; escalate to the Commercial Accounts Manager.
6. Develop complex solutions and quotations for customer requests, ensuring all quotes are approved before submission.
7. Manage project delivery for external customers.
8. Coordinate with contractors during project delivery and system support.
9. Maintain up-to-date documentation for customer systems to facilitate ongoing support.
10. Follow all relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
11. Maintain stock of critical spare parts for external support commitments.
12. Support internal PoJ technical support as needed.
13. Support, maintain, and develop internal Ports security systems, including CCTV, Access Control, and Car Parking systems.
14. Stay informed about the latest technologies relevant to the services offered.

• Knowledge of products and services offered by the commercial team is desirable.
