Job summary

JLL in Swinton is seeking a commercially focused professional to manage financial delivery and reduce exposure to risk across projects valued from £100k to £4m. You will negotiate interim and final accounts, prepare budgets, monitor costs and support the project team on variations and contractual notices.

Key duties include client negotiations, site visits for cost control, and mentoring junior colleagues. Strong contract knowledge and IT skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial role within fire protection or building services.
• Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and fire engineering standards.
• Proficient in cost control techniques and reporting.
• Awareness of dispute resolution procedures and handling disputes.
• Ability to produce monthly cost and value reports.
• Strong negotiation and client/ subcontractor management skills.
• Experience with final accounts and working independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Agree interim payment amounts with clients and monitor payment deadlines.
• Negotiate Final Accounts and assist with variations and costs.
• Prepare project budgets with Sales or Project Manager.
• Monitor budgets against costs and report monthly to senior management.
• Assist with troublesome subcontractor final accounts.
• Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and recorded.
• Collaborate with Project team and Directors on commercial matters.
• Prepare contractual notices with Project Manager and Directors.
• Attend site visits for variations and quality matters as needed.
• Attend client meetings as required and review tender terms with Sales.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues.
• Mentor junior team members as required.
