Anglian Water Services is recruiting a Commercial Manager (Pre-Contract) to lead the commercial strategy for a major infrastructure programme. Hybrid working in Peterborough with some London attendance, you will shape procurement, draft contracts, and manage risk and value across partnerships.

You’ll bring NEC4 and pre-contract expertise, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to deliver the Reservoirs Programme for the region.

• Significant experience in commercial management for major infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in NEC4 contracts and pre-contract procurement.
• Good understanding of PA23 contracting principles.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to align across teams.
• Collaborative, future-focused mindset aligned with company values.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Commercial Lead in developing the commercial and contractual strategy for procurement.
• Specialising in NEC4, framework agreements, and bespoke contracts to reflect strategy and values.
• Drafting and reviewing contract documentation, allocating risk and reward.
• Overseeing supplier and contractor selection, producing tender documents and leading negotiations.
• Providing commercial modelling, evaluation, and dispute avoidance expertise.
• Building relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive continuous improvement.
• Designing commercial models, payment mechanisms, and KPI management for major programmes.
• Championing health, safety and wellbeing in line with Safer Every Day culture.
