Job summary

Our Client in Peterborough seeks a Commercial Manager to lead the project commercial function from inception to close out, reporting to the Project Director. Hybrid working is available.

The role focuses on robust cost management, procurement strategy, and governance across water-industry projects. Required qualifications include a Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying with RICS/CIOB/CICES, and experience delivering multi-million pound schemes using NEC contracts.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying or related discipline.
• RICS/CIOB/CICES accreditation desirable.
• Proven delivery of complex projects (£100k to multi‑million).
• Experience leading teams and contract administration.
• NEC contract knowledge and procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide robust commercial estimates aligned to scope and risks.
• Manage procurement strategies and tender processes.
• Oversee subcontractor management per contract incl. payments.
• Maintain cost control with accurate forecasting and cost reporting.
• Develop processes to standardise commercial delivery and mentor staff.
