Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing initiatives for major infrastructure projects. You will shape procurement plans, run tenders, and negotiate spot buys to support programme development and resilience against climate-change challenges.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, cost reduction focus, and the ability to manage complex portfolios up to £750m. Hybrid work with Peterborough office and flexible part-time options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in procuring operational services or capital projects.
• Demonstrated ability to run complex tender processes (RFI/RFP).
• Ability to run strategic sourcing events from strategy to completion.
• Experience building commercial models and KPIs.
• Proven negotiation skills to achieve business outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder and third-party relationship management.
• Willingness to challenge standard protocols and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver a procurement plan for multiple spend categories to support project portfolios.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate spend, improve resilience and run tender processes.
• Support development of call-off agreements for ongoing needs.
• Manage projects with values up to £750m and provide exposure to large infrastructure schemes.
• Drive cost reduction and supplier performance improvements while delivering a robust procurement service.
• Project-manage initiatives and engage stakeholders to meet business needs.
• Develop procurement strategies with tangible value-add benefits aligned to objectives.
