Job summary

Axon Moore is seeking an experienced Commercial Management Accountant in Halifax to support financial reporting, operational performance and commercial decision‑making. You will work with operational teams and senior management to drive profitability and growth.

The role focuses on month‑end reporting, cost control, budgeting and forecasting, with strong emphasis on data analysis and business partnering. Suitable candidates will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Experience in management or commercial accounting, preferably manufacturing.
• Strong month-end reporting and cost analysis skills.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Good understanding of manufacturing costs, stock accounting and margins.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Analyse performance, variances, costs, margins and profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Partner with operational teams to monitor budgets, KPIs and performance.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, stock, inventory and production variances.
• Support pricing, cost control, cash flow and working capital management.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage month-end processes, year-end accounts, audit and VAT requirements.
• Provide commercial insights to support business decisions and improve profitability.
• Improve financial reporting processes, systems and management information.

We're working with a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Halifax that is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Management Accountant to support financial reporting, operational performance and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Analyse performance, variances, costs, margins and profitability.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Good understanding of manufacturing costs, stock accounting and margins.
• Strong Excel, financial systems and reporting skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Confident communicator, able to work with finance and non-finance teams.
• Proactive, commercially minded and focused on improving business performance.
