Job summary

Axon Moore is supporting a successful and growing business in Huddersfield to appoint an experienced Finance Manager who will oversee the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate financial insight to support performance and growth.

You will lead monthly close and management accounts, manage cash flow and working capital, drive improvements in processes and controls, develop the finance team and partner with senior management on budgeting, forecasting and commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar role.
• Strong management accounting, reporting and month-end experience.
• Good cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management experience.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

We're working with a successful and growing business based in Huddersfield that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate financial insight to support business performance and continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Leading the monthly financial close and production of management accounts
• Preparing and reviewing P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
• Managing daily cash flow and 13-week cash flow forecasting
• Driving improvements across aged debtors, creditors and working capital
• Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
• Leading and developing the finance and administration teams
• Overseeing purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash processes
• Managing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany balances and month-end accounting
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis and commercial decision-making
• Coordinating VAT and routine tax compliance
• Supporting audit, statutory reporting and year-end requirements
• Overseeing finance systems, reporting processes and data integrity
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, automation, controls and efficiency
• Providing financial analysis and commercial support to senior management

The client is looking for

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar role
• Strong management accounting, reporting and month-end experience
• Good cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management experience
• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Good understanding of VAT, audit, financial controls and year-end processes
