Job summary

INDFIN, based in Halifax, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate financial insight to support growth. The role involves leading monthly close, managing cash flow and delivering robust reporting to senior management.

You will drive improvements in working capital, oversee VAT/compliance and mentor the finance team while partnering with leadership to inform strategic decisions for a growing business.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or QBE.
• Experience in Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role.
• Strong management accounting, reporting and month-end experience.
• Good cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and production of management accounts.
• Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Manage daily cash flow and 13-week cash flow forecasting.
• Drive improvements in aged debtors, creditors and working capital.
• Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Lead and develop the finance and administration team.
• Oversee purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash processes.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany balances and month-end accounting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis and commercial decision-making.
• Coordinate VAT and routine tax compliance.
• Support audit, statutory reporting and year-end requirements.
• Oversee finance systems and data integrity.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and controls.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial support to senior management.

We're working with a successful and growing business based in Halifax that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate financial insight to support business performance and continued growth.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the monthly financial close and production of management accounts
• Preparing and reviewing P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
• Managing daily cash flow and 13-week cash flow forecasting
• Driving improvements across aged debtors, creditors and working capital
• Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
• Leading and developing the finance and administration teams
• Overseeing purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash processes
• Managing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany balances and month-end accounting

The client is looking for:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar role
• Strong management accounting, reporting and month-end experience
• Good cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management experience
• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Good understanding of VAT, audit, financial controls and year-end processes
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, commercially focused approach with the ability to drive improvements
