INDFIN is hiring a Management Accountant for Hull to own monthly management accounts, drive cost visibility, and work closely with production and operations. You will report to the Financial Controller and influence decisions beyond the spreadsheet.

The role offers hybrid working, a salary up to £55,000, and a bonus of up to 10%. You’ll be involved in year-end processes and supporting budgets for a growing manufacturing business.

Formación

• Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
• Management accounting experience in manufacturing or stock-heavy environment
• VAT experience including returns
• Strong Excel skills and ERP familiarity
• Ability to explain numbers to non-finance people

Responsabilidades

• Prepare monthly management accounts with accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Month-end and year-end close to tight deadlines
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and review VAT treatment
• Perform variance analysis against budget/forecast with commentary
• Support annual budget and rolling forecasts
• Stock and WIP reconciliations, cost, margin analysis
• Collaborate with production/operations to improve cost visibility
• Assist year-end audit and prepare working papers
• Participate in ad hoc projects across finance

Looking for a role where you're close to the operation and your numbers actually shape decisions on the shop floor? This one's worth a look.

The business is an established manufacturing company based in Hull. They're growing, they're investing, and they need a Management Accountant who wants to get properly involved in the business rather than sit behind a spreadsheet all day.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll own the monthly management accounts and be a go-to person for operational and commercial teams who want to understand what's driving performance.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Month-end and year-end close, working to tight reporting deadlines
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns, making sure they're accurate and compliant with MTD
• Reviewing VAT treatment on sales and purchases, including imports, exports and EU transactions
• Reconciling the VAT control account and dealing with HMRC queries when they come up
• Variance analysis against budget and forecast, with clear commentary on what's behind the numbers
• Supporting the annual budget and rolling forecasts
• Stock and WIP reconciliations, plus standard costing and margin analysis
• Working with production and operations teams to improve cost visibility
• Supporting the year-end audit and preparing working papers
• Getting involved in ad hoc projects and process improvements across the finance function

What they're looking for

• Management accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or another stock-heavy environment
• Hands-on VAT experience, including preparing and submitting returns
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with an ERP system
• Someone who can explain the numbers clearly to non-finance people
• A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge and improve how things are done
