Job description

Long O Donnell Associates is recognized as a world-class consultancy providing engineering, project and programme management, and commercial solutions within the energy, infrastructure, and governmental sectors.

We support major complex projects with expertise in commercial and contracts, design and engineering, project delivery, and health, safety, and environmental services.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We seek a commercially experienced individual to lead our commercial team on a portfolio of projects, primarily within the water sector, playing a crucial role in the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering client-side projects in the utilities industry:

  • Safely deliver the AMP8 programme by developing and adopting efficient commercial practices to achieve gains while meeting client and customer requirements. Lead commercial delivery of wastewater/clean water and gas infrastructure projects through all project stages.
  • Consider commercial aspects throughout project delivery.
  • Lead on commercial matters related to assigned frameworks/projects.
  • Support the Infrastructure Director in growing the company's commercial sector within your frameworks.
  • Represent projects in commercial reviews with clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships.
  • Protect company interests under contracts.
  • Administer contractual commercial obligations.
  • Manage NEC 3/4 contract delivery.
  • Draft commercial correspondence within response periods.
  • Manage valuation and validation of compensation events.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Experience or deep understanding of the water industry and design standards.
  • Experience in lead commercial roles within large organizations.
  • Full driving license.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
