Job summary

National Express Bus in Birmingham is seeking a Commercial Executive to join the West Midlands Bus Commercial team. You will report to the Commercial Systems Manager and work at the crossroads of commercial strategy, planning and stakeholder engagement to boost revenue and keep passengers smiling.

The role involves three days on site at NX House (Birmingham) with remaining days from home, supporting growth through pricing, B2B opportunities and reporting for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the West Midlands and UK bus market including commercial, tendered and franchised frameworks.
• Demonstrable experience communicating with senior executives, local councils and frontline depot staff.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, keep projects on schedule and coordinate cross-functional groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; willingness to learn Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Support Commercial Growth by assisting pricing, customer and expansion strategies across the bus network.
• Explore B2B opportunities by identifying and pitching sales opportunities with private organisations and local authorities.
• Represent the brand in forums such as the Bus Alliance, Bus Operator Group and Enhanced Partnership meetings.
• Deliver concise reports and compelling presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Network Planning, Marketing and Operations to improve performance and challenge legacy approaches.
