Job summary

Stagecoach West in Gloucester is seeking a commercially minded leader to plan and schedule our bus network, developing timetables, driver duties and rosters. You will use customer, market and performance data to identify opportunities to improve services and commercial performance.

This role oversees costings, prepares competitive bids, collaborates with operations, and builds strong relationships with depot teams, local stakeholders and trade unions.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience and track record of improving performance.
• Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Understanding of financial considerations behind commercial decisions.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing people.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Genuine customer focus to support better commercial performance.
• Interest in public transport and improving bus networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and scheduling of the bus network, including timetables and rosters.
• Use data to identify opportunities to improve services and commercial performance.
• Monitor key commercial measures and turn insights into action.
• Oversee costings and prepare competitive bids for contracted services.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure plans are practical and deliverable.
• Build strong relationships with depot teams, local stakeholders and trade unions.
• Work with marketing and digital teams to support customer acquisition, retention and engagement.
• Lead and develop the Commercial Officers team.
• Support the Commercial Director and represent the team in meetings when required.
