Job summary

Stagecoach Group Limited in Gloucester is seeking a Network Development Manager to shape our bus network, lead timetable development, and drive commercial performance using customer insight and data.

You will manage a team of Commercial Officers, collaborate with operations, finance, marketing and digital, and translate opportunities into practical improvements that benefit customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with a track record of improving performance and delivering results.
• Ability to turn data into clear recommendations and practical actions.
• Understanding the financial considerations behind commercial decisions and building credible business cases.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing people.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence at all levels.
• Genuine customer focus and understanding of how customer experience supports commercial performance.
• Interest in public transport and how great bus networks help communities.

Responsibilities

• Leading planning and scheduling of the bus network, including timetables, driver duties and rosters.
• Using customer, market and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitoring key commercial measures and turning insight into action.
• Overseeing costings and preparation of commercially competitive bids for contracted services.
• Collaborating with operations to ensure plans are practical and delivered.
• Building relationships with depot teams, local stakeholders and Trade Union representatives.
• Working with marketing and digital teams to support customer acquisition, retention and engagement.
• Leading and developing Commercial Officers, fostering a high-performing team.
• Supporting the Commercial Director and representing the commercial team in meetings.
