Job summary

Construction, Property and Engineering is seeking a qualified engineer to manage gas and heating systems on a static contract in Northumberland. You will ensure safety, compliance, and operation via scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.

The role is full-time with Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, offering a competitive salary (£40,000–£46,000) and a generous pension. You will work alongside a professional team in a secure environment and may participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe Registration is required.
• ACS qualifications COCN1, CDGA1, ICPN1 must be held or pursued.
• Experience with commercial gas and heating systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Background in facilities management or secure environments is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and undertake further technical training.
• Commercial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform gas safety inspections and testing, including CP15 and CP17 certifications.
• Maintain, repair, and replace commercial gas-fired boilers and heating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults using professional diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and handle reactive work orders.
• Interpret technical drawings and manufacturer instructions for complex repairs.
• Supervise and escort specialist contractors on site.
• Join on-call rota to ensure continuous site coverage.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified engineer to manage the gas and heating systems on a static contract in Northumberland. You will be responsible for keeping all systems safe, compliant, and fully operational through a mix of scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.

The Package:

• Competitive salary between £40,000 - £46,000 per annum
• Full-time and permanent opportunity
• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• 33 days annual holidays (including bank holidays)
• Generous company pension scheme - 6% pension scheme (Can be increased or decreased)

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all gas safety inspections and testing, including CP15 and CP17 certifications.
